Founded in 1980 to unite designers of the Conejo Valley with the common goals of establishing high professional standards through educational advancement, and promoting community service. Membership by application is exclusive to those who qualify in the profession by virtue of education and experience and whose business practices are governed by our code of professional ethics. CAPID is a non-profit organization. Our membership services the local communities and beyond.

Application Process
We are currently accepting new members in both Interior Designer and Industry Partner categories. Applicants must attend at least one (1) CAPID meeting or event prior to applications being considered.
2024 membership dues are $300.00. New members pay prorated dues.

Membership Categories
Interior Designer Membership:
1) Employed or self-employed for three (3) or more years working as an Interior Designer,
or
2) A degree in Interior Design from an accredited school and at least one (1) year work experience as an interior designer, PLUS
1) Professional affiliation/certification with ASID, NKBA, NCDIQ, CID, IDS, IIDA,
or
2) Three (3) of the following:
- Resale Tax ID – Current CA State Sellers Permit #,
- 4 Trade Vendor References – Company name, Contact name and phone,
- Business License,
- Business Website,
or
3) Employed by a Design company or store for 6 or more years as an Interior Designer.
- Must live or work within the CAPID boundaries: Calabasas, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Newbury Park, Moorpark, and Camarillo.
- Must attend a minimum of 6 meetings per year.
- Must complete 0.1 Continuing Education Unit in Interior Design per year.
- New Member will be on provisional status for one year.

Industry Partner Membership:
- Be a vendor or producer of goods and services utilized by members of the interior design industry.
- Must have been working in the industry for a minimum of (3) three years.
- Must live or work within the CAPID boundaries: Calabasas, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Newbury Park, Moorpark, and Camarillo.
- Must be sponsor by a Designer Member of CAPID.
- Must attend a minimum of 6 meetings per year; may send an employee as proxy to a maximum of 4 meetings.
- Must complete 0.1 Continuing Education Unit in Interior Design per year.
- New Member will be on provisional status for one year.
